Lectures and Demos
I have lectured on my work and done demonstrations at various locations through the years. Some of my favorites include doing an artist talk/art performance at Hatch Match at the Chicago Artists Coalition, speaking about my work to Anna Kunz's painting students at Columbia College Chicago, speaking about my work to students and faculty at Saint Xavier University when I had a solo show in their gallery, and doing a demonstration and workshop at The Museum of Contemporary Art to celebrate spring with a First Friday event in which visitors made their own dome art using paper cones on board, which are artistic offspring of Josef Albers and Buckminster Fuller. At Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL I was asked to speak about my work to their Two Dimensional Design, Drawing I, and Three Dimensional Design classes, and afterwards I showed them how to do photo transferring and contact paper stenciling. I was asked to come back the following year. After speaking about my work I showed them the paper dome demonstration, and then we hung a collaborative installation outside of the campus gallery.
