This work is about a rapid way of seeing; about what happens when images pass us quickly, and we are left with moments of clarity. Although the plastic material references new materials, the work was developed from the context of art history as extensions of paintings. I was inspired by Barnett Newman's work by the same name as well as reading Warped Space: Art, Architecture, and Anxiety in Modern Culture by Anthony Vidler.
